 Gravity defying helictites in the Grand Canyon, Dan yr Ogof, South Wales.

These examples are up to two inches long.

There are many theories as to how they form but as yet no one is really sure.

It is quite interesting to see that all of the helictites are pointing in the same direction, adding weight to the theory that their growth is influenced by air flow.
