Calcite flowstone curtains (and a column) in the Upper Oxbow Series, Ogof Ffynnon Ddu, South Wales.

Here the water rich calcite has run down a crack in the roof of the cave passage to form a stalactite which is thin and folded like a set of curtains.  When a light is shone through a curtain it reveals bands of rich colour formed by mineral traces in the calcite.

A stunning curtain in St. Cuthbert's Swallet, Priddy, Mendips.
